A serious gym in a glass box, not a hotel corner with three machines. Red steel frame two storeys high with the name across the top, a terrace café underneath the front, and inside a full commercial fit-out: racked Ziva dumbbells running from 4 kg to 50 kg in single steps, benches, rigs, green rubber floor. Free sauna in the late afternoon. Prices are posted on the counter rather than hidden behind a consultation, which is the reason it is on this page.
Gorilla has more than one site in the city and they are not the same size or the same fit-out. The prices below were read at one of them, and a card at one branch is not automatically a card at all of them — ask which sites your membership opens before you pay for a long one.
Short stay: two weeks full access 149 lei, and a day pass is not advertised on the board. Monthly: full access all day on a recurring card 159 lei, the 4 o’clock card 186, students on the 4 o’clock card 153, and Tribe full access 219. Longer: 4 months 657, 6 months 985, 12 months 1533. Two people 349, a family of three 459. Personal training 800 for the block or 80 a session. Sauna and pass 30 and 40 lei, with the sauna free between 16:00 and 20:00.
A second board prices a rolling membership by how many months you have been coming: 219 lei for month one, 211 for month two, 202 for months three to five, 194 by month six. The right-hand column runs on to month twelve but is cut off in the photograph, so we have not written those numbers down. The shape is clear enough — stay and it gets cheaper.
Ziva dumbbells in a long double rack, whole numbers from 4 kg up to 50 kg — no gaps where the useful weights should be, which is the quickest way to judge a gym. Interlocking rubber floor, mirrors down one side, the free-weight area given proper room rather than squeezed behind the cardio. That is the rack in the photograph at the top of this page.
