Brâncuși laid three works out along one straight kilometre through the town, as a war memorial: the Table of Silence and the Gate of the Kiss in the riverside park, then across the road and along the avenue to the Endless Column. Walking the axis end to end is the visit, and it takes an hour. It is the closest of the four and the easiest half-day — near enough to go after breakfast and be back for a late lunch.
